Successful Establishment in Smart Metering Section

In a company spin-off for metrological services and services in energy management, ENLITE has assisted the executive board in establishing the required processes and systems. Besides acting as interim managers, the consultants and engineers developed the process map and executive organization, took over the process documentation as well as certification according to DIN ISO 9001 and ensured the functional capability of IT systems and coordination of interfaces and SLAs in the group.  The company was successful in establishing itself as specialist for the nation-wide operation of intelligent metering systems (smart meters) and providing metering services for the electricity, gas, water and heat industries. Their range of services includes the entire value chain of smart metering from the metering technology and energy data management to the integration of ERP systems.

International Project Management

Grid extension is of crucial significance for the success of renewable energy. A grid operator instructed ENLITE to assist in setting up an international project and obtaining an internal project order. For that purpose, it was important not only to consider the existing project management guideline of the company but also the specific requirements of offshore projects. ENLITE implemented i.a. a kick off meeting with all project members, established regular project team meetings and developed all required documents such as a detailed description of the planning status, a work breakdown structure and a project manual.

 

 

International Project Management

Increased Organizational Efficiency

The average time a local supplier needed to provide a service connection was too long, the costs were too high and the customer perspective was not considered enough during project execution. ENLITE assisted the local supplier in optimizing this core process, which has a high effect on the customer. The management and technology consultants developed improvement suggestions and implementation variants in a project team together with the client. After recording the actual process and evaluating already existing optimization suggestions, they compiled all findings and derived appropriate optimization measures for process organization. Afterwards, ENLITE developed the parameters for the target process and a correspondingly adapted executive organization with all involved staff members. Besides the various changes in the process sequence and in IT support, our work mainly resulted in establishing a process responsible and integrating the process management concept in the company. The result: The average time and costs of the process to provide a service connection were significantly reduced while focusing increasingly on the customer perspective.

ENLITE developed IT Governance and Control Module

The extension of a municipal utility and transport company from a financial to a management holding required an adjustment of the IT control module both on the part of the holding and the utility and transport company. ENLITE assisted in this process and consulted the Chief Information Officer and all contract responsibles. Together with the client, our experts developed a concept for IT control as well as its instruments and areas of action, prepared an interview series with the executives, modeled the IT strategy and IT project portfolio and coordinated these with requirements management. They installed a three role model on the basis of ENLITE's IT strategy house and established the required boards and roles.
